History of the Northampton Vineyard ![]() The first seed of the Northampton Vineyard was planted in the spring of 2002 as Brent and LeAnna were taking a class at the Cambridge Vineyard
called “Discovering your Gifts and Ministry.” The question posed, was
“if you could do anything in the world for God, regardless of time,
talent, or money, what would you do?” Brent sensed God giving him a
surprising answer: “You should plant a church in Northampton.” As Brent
and LeAnna started sharing their love for the Pioneer Valley and the
dreams they had for creating a new kind of church there, other folks
starting catching the spark. The phrase most often repeated was, “That
can’t be your dream. That’s my dream, and everyone has always thought I
was crazy for dreaming that.” Soon a small tribe of like-minded crazy
adventurers had gathered and began praying and preparing to move west
from Boston. In the summer of 2005, a dozen or so people are moving to
Northampton and join with our friends here to start a new Vineyard
church. The bulk of our history is still to be written, or painted, or
sung, but we are full of hope and dreams for the future, and we hope
you will be a part of our history too! ![]() Read more about our dreams |
