What to Expect
You
will notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, most often quite
casually. There will be plenty of coffee to wake you up and snacks that
will fuel you for what we hope will be an honest, hope-filled, fun time
to encounter God.
After an opening song of worship led
by our band, our pastor will begin to speak. The messages, we believe,
will be relevant and practical to your everyday life. After the sermon,
you’ll have the opportunity to receive further prayer from a team of
people trained in praying for people.
Those who don’t
ask for prayer will enter into a time of worship. Vineyard music is
known for being contemporary and dynamic, so, for instance, we have a
band rather than a choir and an organ. Worship is a personal — and
corporate — time for us to interact with God, and we hope that you will
feel the freedom to sing along, sit quietly, or even dance! Towards the
end of service, we’ll often take communion and we’ll also take an
offering, though we really hope that our visitors won’t give, but will
regard themselves as our guests.
We hope you’ll stop by
for a visit and, if you do, that we’ll have a chance to meet and talk
some. And, one way or another, we hope you find a place to connect with
God that will work well for you!
